About the calculators.
What free calculators does Nimblewit have?
the FIRE calculator and the Dividend calculator. The FIRE calculator works out the FIRE number (yearly spending divided by the withdrawal rate), the age it could be reached from savings today and a monthly saving, and the Coast FIRE number, in today's dollars, with an optional government pension and no taxes. The Dividend calculator works out how a dividend portfolio could grow with and without reinvestment (DRIP) and what yearly income it could pay, with dividend growth, price growth and monthly contributions, for up to 30 years and with no taxes.
Do I need an account to use them?
No. Every calculator gives its full answer without signing up, and the first result is always visible. An account is only needed for what calculators can't do: using your real holdings and keeping them up to date.
Are the numbers I enter saved or sent anywhere?
No. Each calculation runs in your browser and the numbers you type are not saved or sent to Nimblewit. The pages may count that a visit happened or that a calculator was used, never what you entered.
How are these different from tracking my real portfolio?
A calculator works from numbers you type, such as a guessed balance or yield. Nimblewit reads your statements, CSV exports or screenshots and shows your actual return, the dividends you have received and the income you can expect, so you can start from what you own.
Is this investment advice?
No. Nimblewit doesn't give investment, tax or retirement advice. The calculators are illustrations based on the numbers you enter and the assumptions stated on each page.
